FIVE new Covid-19 clusters have been detected today by the Ministry of Health, with three of them in Sabah, the state reporting the most number of cases in recent weeks.
Director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that the new Sabah clusters were in Kasih, Surat and Khazanah, while the Sungai Way cluster has formed in Selangor and similarly the Bah Bundle cluster in Labuan.
The new clusters involve 94 cases in total, with the Kasih cluster claiming 34 of them.
“Two Sabah clusters in are in Lahat Datu, and the other in Sandakan.
“The Sungai Way cluster involves cases in Petaling, Gombak and Titiwangsa, while the Bah Bundle cluster is in Labuan,” Noor Hisham said in a virtual press conference today.
As for the breakdown of the clusters, Noor Hisham said that 1,838 individuals were screened in the Kasih cluster, where 234 tested positive, while 1,804 are still awaiting results.
As for the Surat cluster, 74 individuals were screened, with 24 testing positive and 49 awaiting results.
In the Khazanah cluster, 652 people have been screened, with 14 testing positive and 638 waiting for results.
A total of 149 people were screened in the Sungai Way cluster, with 18 testing positive, 124 negative and seven results still pending.
Finally, in the Bah Bundle cluster, 430 individuals have been screened, three tested positive, 131 negative and 296 are awaiting results. – October 11, 2020.
