POLICE are investigating Red Shirts leader Jamal Yunos’ recent threat to bash in Zaid Ibrahim’s head with a hammer, said the Inspector-General of Police Mohamad Fuzi Harun.

Fuzi told The Malaysian Insight over the phone that police have received reports over Jamal’s antics at the Umno general assembly yesterday and today, where he burned two effigies of Zaid and then threatened to bash the former law minister’s head in with a hammer over comments regarding the Selangor sultan.

Fuzi said police will decide on whether or not to call Jamal, who is Umno Sg Besar chief, in for questioning after concluding their initial probe into the incident, adding that no police protection has been assigned to Zaid at the moment.

“We cannot take care (within) 24 hours… let the police investigate Jamal first before deciding whether or not he (Zaid) needs police protection,” he said.

Following Jamal’s antics today, Zaid had expressed fears for the safety of his family and himself over his twitter account and said he “hoped the inspector-general of police will take care of our safety”.

Zaid had incurred the wrath of the Selangor ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah after he told the sultan to be careful with his words when criticising Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Zaid had tweeted that “no one is immune when the country burns”, in relation to an interview the sultan gave to The Star, in which he described Dr Mahathir as an angry leader whose “anger would burn the whole country”. – December 8, 2017.

  • To some very large extend Jamal is importing a new malay culture lately like creating trouble burning. On top
of this there is no reprimand from the higher authority like UMNO PRESIDENT AND DEPUTY PRESIDENT. WHY? Do they support JAMAL? THIS IS CREATING FEAR ON THE GENERAL PUBLIC AT LARGE. THE LAW OF LAW IS NOT FOLLOWED.

  • Apart from the police arresting Jamal , the Rakyat of Selangor are expecting the Selangor Royal Household to have better judgment and tell Jamal and Umno off in interfering the concerns and making it to be a political scene. Infact Umno is playing with fire and bringing disrespect to the Royal House by trepassing in their apolitical role and stirring shits. The Sultan of Selangor is the much better person to act promptly on the nonsensical acts of Jamal.

  • Zaid knows about law too well. First he wants to prove there is law in the country. Next he will prove there is order in the house. Zahid…haha.
