BAGAN MP Lim Guan Eng was again called in by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for questioning today, DAP sources said.

They said the former Penang chief minister was told to present himself at MACC headquarters this evening after the end of today’s parliament session.

It is learnt Lim arrived for his appointment in Putrajaya at 9.10pm.

“He is still in there with them,” said a party leader when contacted.

He did not know how long Lim would be kept for questioning or if he would be arrested.

Rumour has it that MACC will arrest Lim today.

MACC is expected to issue a statement on the matter tonight.

This is the fourth time Lim is questioned by the MACC over the RM6.3 billion Penang undersea tunnel project.

His last session with the investigators late last month lasted eight hours.

Earlier last month, MACC recorded a statement from Chow Kon Yeow, who succeeded Lim as the Penang chief minister.

Allegations of corruption concerning the project were first raised by Malaysia Today blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin, a former PKR member.

He alleged in February and March last year that then Penang chief minister Lim and state excos has been in “criminal collaboration” and had received kickbacks in connection with the project.

MACC has so far questioned Penang excos Jagdeep Singh Deo, who holds the local government portfolio, Chong Eng (women and family development), Phee Boon Poh (community and welfare) and Lim Hock Seng (works, utilities and transport). – August 6, 2020.
