Nurul Izzah afraid to contest in Lembah Pantai, says Wanita Umno chief

SHAHRIZAT ABDUL JALIL says Nurul Izzah is afraid to contest at Lembah Pantai because Raja Nong Chik Zainal Abidin, who lost in the last general election, had been doing her work.

The Wanito Umno chief said there are rumours the women in the opposition camp have turned their backs on their constituencies.

Shahrizat said people from Lembah Pantai have complained about Nurul Izzah’s performance as its MP.

“I do not know whether it is true but that is the feedback I received,” said Shahrizat. 

In the 2013 general election, Nurul Izzah defeated Raja Nong Chik by 1,847 votes. He then rebranded himself as the “friendly uncle from Lembah Pantai”.

In 2008, Nurul Izzah snatched the seat from Shahrizat.

“They (opposition) talk only. When (Penang) was hit by flood, Lim Guan Eng cried. 

“Opposition leaders only know how to talk but when hit by disaster they run off. Who do they call for help? Barisan Nasional leaders,” she said in a press conference at Putra World Trade Centre today.

Earlier, Shahrizat said Wanita Umno will accept the challenge to go against the opposition’s top guns in the 14th general election.

“We are politicians and we are willing to accept the challenge. If (Lim) Kit Siang competes in Gelang Patah, we have candidates to fight him. 

“Politicians are not afraid. If we want to win, we cannot be afraid,” said Shahrizat.

She said the same goes if Wanita Umno was asked to stand against Nurul Izzah. – December 6, 2017.

  • She is in reality pitiful. This grandmother is teaching her children and grandchildren, it does not matter how shameful you behave so long there is a lot of money and status. The kids will pay dearly sooner or later. That makes also all of UMNO wants also pitiful.
