THE younger generation needs to be more vocal in demanding the government to take into consideration the global challenges that could threaten the security of Malaysians, said Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

“For total security, it is important for our young to reach out to the policy makers and speak up on what they think should be the priorities of tomorrow and the ones that need to be addressed today, as these will have an impact on their lives.

“There are just so many disruptions out there which we may not even have thought about.”

He said this in his closing address at the one-day Kuala Lumpur International Youth Discourse held in conjunction with the Umno General Assembly which will begin on Tuesday.

Khairy said in this regard, Malaysia was offering a platform called the National Transformation 2050 (TN50), where the  aspirations of young people of today were canvassed.

He said through the programme, the government had reached out to almost two million youthsand received 60,000 specific aspirations in a span of 10 months.

He said among others, the participants talked about cyber space security, the environment, food, employment and energy. – Bernama, December 3, 2017.

  • I do believe UMNO is interested to hear from the youth provided it is done in an umno preferred method. Pls do not say anything umno is unwilling to listen because it is a waste of breath (or you may be hauled by the polis to court)
