SOCIAL and religious gatherings will be allowed from July 1 but must be limited to 250 people, said senior minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

These include weddings, engagements, birthday parties as well as religious events, he said during his media briefing in Putrajaya today.

He also said the events must be held between three and five hours, with strict standard operating procedures (SOP).

“We decided today to allow wedding ceremonies, religious events, birthdays and reunions but each event must be held between three and five hours.

“Only up to 250 individuals are allowed, depending on the size of the venue.”

He said food must be served by caterers or wait staff.

“There must also be temperature checks and health screening. Those with fever or flu must not attend these events.

“The organiser must record every guest using the MySejahtera application.”

These activities have been suspended since the implementation of the movement control order on March 18 to curb the spread of Covid-19. – June 24, 2020.
