Patrick Teoh out on bail

RADIO announcer and actor Patrick Teoh has been released on police bail today after being remanded for five days due to investigations into allegations that he insulted the Johor crown prince in a Facebook post.

Johor police chief Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay confirmed that Teoh was granted bail this morning.

Teoh was arrested on May 9 after a report was lodged on his posting where the 73-year-old was believed to have shared a video clip of the Johor crown prince in military uniform and used obscenities in his Facebook comment on the matter.

The post is no longer on Teoh’s Facebook page.

The case is being investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act for the improper use of network facilities. – May 14, 2020.
