TRADITIONAL Chinese medicines are not for treating Covid-19 patients, said director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

“They are complimentary and there to help the recovery process, but not to treat Covid-19 patients,” he said at his daily press briefing in Putrajaya today.

Noor Hisham said Chinese medical experts had proposed using herbs and acupuncture to help speed up the recovery process of Covid-19 patients.

Meanwhile, he said the Ministry of Health’s confidence has been boosted by the assistance from Chinese medical experts.

“In this past week, they have shared their experiences with us on how to handle and treat patients, and it has given us confidence that our actions have been effective.

“We have learnt from their mistakes and experiences,” said Noor Hisham.

He said that medical experts from Malaysia and China will hold an exit conference tomorrow.

The eight-member expert team was organised by China’s National Health Commission and selected by the health commission of Guangdong province.

They arrived in Malaysia on Saturday to share China’s experiences in fighting the pandemic. – April 30, 2020.

  • Thank goodness for the voice of reason. What with the Chinese lab source or American army source disinformation, fake information seems more popular than scientific fact. And no, you cant inject disinfectant to kill the virus.
