SEVEN new Covid-19 cases were detected in the seven areas under an enhanced movement control order (EMCO) yesterday, said the Health Ministry.

Five new cases were reported near the Selayang wholesale market, while there was one new case each at Menara Plaza City One and Selangor Mansion.

Of the five new cases in Selayang, two were from outside the area, prompting the Health Ministry to close down wet markets in Taman Megah, Jalan Othman and Chow Kit.

The other four EMCO areas – Malayan Mansion, Hulu Langat, Kluang and Selayang Baru – had no new cases.

The Health Ministry today announced the lowest number of Covid-19 cases recorded since the movement control order was implemented on March 18, with 31 cases reported as at noon today.

This takes the number of total cases in Malaysia to 5,851, with 4,032 recoveries and 100 deaths. – April 28, 2020.
