New Covid-19 cases continue to drop as death toll hits 100


The number of new Covid-19 cases in Malaysia continues to fall as the death toll hits 100 with the passing of a 67-year-old man. – The Malaysian Insight pic by Hasnoor Hussain, April 28, 2020.

A TOTAL of 75 patients have recovered from Covid-19 and were discharged, more than double the number of 31 new cases reported, said Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

Noor Hisham said 4,032 people have recovered from the virus, while the accumulated number of cases is 5,851

“Currently, there are 36 patients in intensive care, of whom 17 require respiratory support,” he said.

Noor Hisham said there was one death reported over the past 24 hours, bringing the national death toll to 100.

He said a 67-year-old man, a stroke survivor with a heart condition, was receiving treatment at Sg Buloh Hospital but died this morning at 9.40am. – April 28, 2020.
