MALAYSIANS have quickly adapted to the “new norm” since the movement control order (MCO) was implemented, said Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.

He said Malaysians can see a new cultural pattern and lifestyle change that has never been seen before.

“The new norm is staying at home, maintaining social distancing and maintaining hygiene,” the prime minister said.

“What is amazing is people have adapted to it and are disciplined,” he said at a special live interview tonight.

“This shows Malaysians can be shaped and they understand that this (MCO) is a good move for them.”

Muhiyidddin said that’s why they are following the guidelines.

“Of course, there were some who flouted the MCO. There was also traffic congestion on the highway.

“For me, that’s normal and everything is under control.

“This is something good that we had never witness before (obeying MCO).”

Earlier today, director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 99 patients have recovered from Covid-19 and been discharged from hospitals, exceeding the 51 new cases reported.

He said there were two deaths reported over the past 24 hours, bringing the national death toll to 98. – April 25, 2020.
