A LIST of Ramadan bazaars permitted to open in 66 locations in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya will be finalised by next week, said Federal Territories Minister Annuar Musa.
He said ministry officials will meet with the various hawker associations tomorrow to work out how the positions of the stalls at the bazaars.
“The hawkers will have their stalls in the 66 locations but they will be subject to safe distancing and all the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Health,” Annuar said on Facebook live today.
“We hope to deploy officers to monitor these locations and ensure the guidelines are followed.
“The hawkers will be given three or four days to register their stalls with City Hall and Perbadanan Putrajaya before we meet with the e-hailing companies to see how to proceed.”
This will be the first time e-hailing platforms are employed at the Ramadan bazaars to deliver the food as a movement control order is currently in force as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The order has twice been extended till April 28 while the fasting month is expected to begin on April 23. – April 11, 2020.
