Ramadan bazaar list next week, says FT minister

A LIST of Ramadan bazaars permitted to open in 66 locations in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya will be finalised by next week, said Federal Territories Minister Annuar Musa.

He said ministry officials will meet with the various hawker associations tomorrow to work out how the positions of the stalls at the bazaars.

“The hawkers will have their stalls in the 66 locations but they will be subject to safe distancing and all the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Health,” Annuar said on Facebook live today.

“We hope to deploy officers to monitor these locations and ensure the guidelines are followed.

“The hawkers will be given three or four days to register their stalls with City Hall and Perbadanan Putrajaya before we meet with the e-hailing companies to see how to proceed.”

This will be the first time e-hailing platforms are employed at the Ramadan bazaars to deliver the food as a movement control order is currently in force as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The order has twice been extended till April 28 while the fasting month is expected to begin on April 23. – April 11, 2020.

  • What responsibility the minister commit if there is an outbreakbof COVID cases! To release a license is easy but he is asking a for a possible problem that can put the country in crisis. U can see how selfish is this minister. He only wants his popularity safeguard , not public interest. I suggest all Malaysians stop going to these bazaar and the minister Just resign if the public reception is bad.

  • Muslim wont die if there is no bazaar but it will surely spread the virus can't you get that in your thick head idiot all the good efforts of the MCO are wash down the drain and have pity for the frontliners to clean up your stupid move. This is not Kota Bahru mind you

  • How can a minister be so clouded by this Ramadan bazaar by putting the rakyat to utmost danger as if this is life n death. This is so far one of the stupidest act of a minister which was not elected by the rakyat . Even the Christians have for gine Easter celebrations this year and many others will. So whats the uproar about but celebrating Ramadan this year?

  • OMG, there are going to be 66 bazaars just in the Klang Valley. The MCO might as well be lifted la. All our sacrifices in the past 4 weeks would come to nought. Only the Umno cronies get to collect the rents from the operators and stalls in the bazaars

  • Dalam kegairahan nak meningkatkan popularity Dan mengambil hati Rakyat, sanggup membuat cadangan yg berisiko tinggi memandangkan pandemic kini masih dlm status bahaya. Satu cadangan yg wajib ditolak oleh Rakyat utk mengelakkan dari wabak kini terus berpanjangan Dan tiada kesudahannya.

  • This very stupid move...China took 76 days to shut down, even when they are richer, more resources, great system and with communist type of discipline than Malaysia, Malaysia have not even close to China in many ways and they took 76 days. I think this year maybe Malay and all Muslim in Malaysia should just cook and eat at home or cant cook eat BUBUR and give the money to the poorer people, that will be good and best Ramadan for them according to the Quran.
