THE Federal Territories Ministry has yet to decide if Ramadan bazaars will be allowed in the capital, said Annuar Musa.
The minister said if the bazaars are allowed to be set up, they will have to come up with new guidelines.
“If we are going to do it, then we need new standard operating procedures. We can’t do it like we did previously,” he said at a press conference that was broadcast live on the ministry’s Facebook today.
Terengganu today decided against setting up Ramadan bazaars, while Kelantan Menteri Besar Ahmad Yakob had said there might not be bazaars in the state this year.
On March 26, Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun had decided there would be no Ramadan bazaars this year.
Annuar also said they would need to factor in other aspects should they go ahead and allow bazaars to be set up.
“We have just gone through two weeks of movement control order and we have seen the trend. The numbers keep increasing.
“We still have two weeks to go. We also have to think about post-April 14.
“We can’t immediately start going out and doing things. We still have to be cautious.”
The Health Ministry has identified three hotspots in the city – Kepong with 73 positive cases, Lembah Pantai (226 cases) and Titiwangsa (64 cases).
