THE new government must set up a royal commission of inquiry (RCI) to investigate alleged wrongdoing and corruption by Pakatan Harapan, said Umno.

“The government, led by Muhyiddin Yassin, must also re-open the corruption cases against PH, including the undersea tunnel project (in Penang) and three highway deals involving DAP.

“It must also commit to stop setting up the Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission, which is aimed at restricting the police’s work,” said Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in a statement today.

Zahid issued the statement after chairing an emergency Umno supreme council meeting at PWTC today and did not take questions.

He said Umno, which is now back in power after the PH government’s collapse, said Putrajaya must also review the sale of assets that was done by the previous government.

The Malay nationalist party also called for greater speed in the investigation and prosecution of those who caused the death of firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim.

It also wants a freeze on terminations of contractual civil service staff and on PH’s policy of reducing the size of civil service. – March 12, 2020.
