Customer data lost during routine ops, says CIMB bank


CIMB Group Holdings Bhd said today magnetic tapes containing back-up customer data were lost during routine operations.

There is no evidence of data compromise, the country’s second biggest lender said in a statement.

The tapes do not contain any authentication data, such as PIN numbers, passwords or credit card security numbers, it added. – November 13, 2017.
