“Now Bersatu is divided. Some are with the president while others are with me.”

Dr Mahathir said the some members have accepted Najib Razak and part of the Umno leadership after forming the Perikatan Nasional government with Barisan Nasional.

“But we have a party election and this will decide who will form the party leadership,” he said after attending an event with Kedah Menteri Besar Mukhriz Mahathir today in Jitra.

Bersatu has set March 16 as nomination day for the leadership positions.

All 189 divisions will vote on April 18.
