UDA Holdings board member positive for Covid-19

UDA Holdings Berhad today confirmed one of its board members has tested positive for the Covid-19 virus.

“The individual had undergone a screening test and was tested positive recently. The individual is currently being treated at a local hospital,” the group said in a statement.

It said UDA has taken precautionary measures, including getting close contacts of the individual.

UDA Holdings said it is working with the Health Ministry in relation to this case.

“UDA’s management is committed towards the necessary action to curb the spread of the virus especially among UDA staff. Efforts are being taken to prioritise the health and safety of the staff.”

Precautionary measures has been stepped up in the premises of UDA subsidiaries, including Ancasa Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

It said no cases has been reported among hotel guests and the hotel is operating as usual.

Meanwhile, Khazanah Nasional Berhad has called off its annual review media briefing that was supposed to be held today.

Yesterday, it said one of its personnel had tested positive for Covid-19 and believed to be the same person at UDA Holdings.

It is understood the employee is one of four new cases announced yesterday.

More than 3,000 people have been killed and 87,000 infected with the virus. – March 2, 2020.
