DAP offers to work with GPS to save Malaysia

DAP is willing to put aside its differences to work with the state ruling coalition, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in the interest of the country, said Chong Chieng Jen.

The Sarawak DAP chairman made the offer in return for GPS’ support of interim Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad to be the next prime minister, amid talk that it was throwing in its lot with Muhyiddin Yassin in the race to the country’s highest office.

“In the interest of the nation, DAP Sarawak is willing to make concession and work together with GPS to help preserve the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government and prevent extremists from seizing power through their back-door operation, the Sheraton Move,” Chong said in a statement today.

He said Malaysia is now at the crossroads and GPS must make a decision to choose between going along with the corrupt coalition of Umno-PAS or preserve the progressive coalition of PH.

“Like all right-minded Malaysians, I shiver at the thought of Umno-PAS coalition becoming the federal government of Malaysia.

“It is a combination of kleptocrats and religious bigots who will bring total destruction to the whole country and our future generations,” Chong said in his appeal to GPS. – February 29, 2020.

  • GPS has no worry in the coming state election anymore, once join or alliances to PH, seats go by allocation, no need to fight practically. Sure to secure state govt control again, with sharing incoming PH.
