I have the numbers, says Anwar again

PKR president Anwar Ibrahim says again that he has the numbers to form government as some members of Parliament on the opposing side are dissatisfied about their parties. – The Malaysian Insight pic by Najjua Zulkefli, February 28, 2020.

ANWAR Ibrahim has reiterated that he has the numbers to form a government amid reports that Bersatu’s Muhyiddin Yassin has locked up the numbers.

The PKR president said members of Parliament who had pledged their support to him had done so as individuals.

“All the MPs pledging for me have done so as individuals.

“I know for a fact some of the MPs on the ‘other side’ are unhappy that their party leaders have stolen their voice.

“Pakatan Harapan (PH) has the numbers. Let’s see out this democratic process. InsyAllah,” he said in a twitter post tonight.

The PKR president currently has 92 MPs, the total number of PH federal lawmakers, in his corner.

However, Muhyiddin has garnered support among 97 parliamentarians after Barisan Nasional and PAS threw in their lot with the Pagoh MP.

The Borneo parties – Sabah’s Warisan and the Gabung Parti Sarawak coalition -– are said to be tilting towards him.

The Borneo parties have 27 MPs, which is more than enough to form the federal government should they collectively choose a single side.

A simple majority of 112 seats in the 222-seat Dewan Rakyat is required to form government. – February 28, 2020.

  • Bend over Malaysia, regardless of who becomes the next PM, the nation is screwed. When will you have the courage/smarts to get rid of all these bad actors? Tun M is the very last person to lead. Why not a Chinese or Indian PM? One who will respect all Malaysians and bring everyone together.
