PARTI Warisan Sabah vice-president Peter Anthony has been ordered to present himself at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters in Putrajaya tomorrow, but it is unclear why he was told do so.

Anthony received the instructions after presenting himself at MACC’s Sabah office in Kota Kinabalu at 9.30am today.

He was accompanied by lawyer Martin Tommy, and was joined by Warisan secretary-general Loretto Padua Jr about five minutes later.

Anthony emerged from office with Padua and Tommy after about 20 minutes.

He said he was ordered to be at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya at 8.30am tomorrow.

“Today I have been called by the MACC to facilitate in the investigation. But I was not informed of what they are investigating.

“Still, I was informed by the officer on duty that they have issued a warrant for me to be present at the MACC office (in Putrajaya) tomorrow,” he said.

Yesterday, Warisan president Shafie Apdal was called in by MACC and questioned for four hours.

Berita Harian reported that Shafie was queried over his recommendation for a company to obtain a maintenance contract valued at RM43 million at a Sabah university.

The company in question may have belonged to Asli Jati Engineering, which is owned by Anthony.

In 2012, MACC cleared Anthony of allegations of false claims amounting to RM43 million.

Several politicians in Sabah, particularly from Warisan, have been caught up in a widening probe into the alleged misappropriation of RM1.5 billion in federal funds meant for development project in the state.

Anthony and Shafie were among those remanded and then released on bail by MACC. – November 7, 2017.
