MINISTER in the Prime Minister’s Department Dr Mujahid Yusof said he will decide on the appropriate action to take against the controversial cosmetic entrepreneur Muhammad Sajjad Kamaruz Zaman after the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has completed its investigation.

The minister in charge of Islamic affairs said action included meeting the businessman popularly known as Nur Sajat.

“I will only think about the next course of action after MCMC and the tour agency involved in the issue have taken necessary actions,” he said in Kuala Lumpur today, regarding the latter’s conducts while in Mecca.

The minister said all pilgrims, including Muhammad Sajjad, must comply with the laws of Saudi Arabia, while performing umrah or haj.

“Saudi Arabia has strict regulations regarding men wearing women’s clothes. Sajjad should have respected that,” he said.

In his statement yesterday, Mujahid said he had met with MCMC, asking the commission to take quick action against Sajjad for causing uneasiness among Muslims after he uploaded his photos clad in women’s attire while performing umrah.

Mujahid also held a meeting with the tour agency, Albayt Travel (M) Sdn Bhd, which handled Sajjad and his family’s trip to Mecca. – Bernama, February 4, 2020.
