ZURAIDA Kamaruddin today denied she will join Bersatu, saying she made no such application.
The PKR vice-president said claims that she is jumping ship are “silly” and untrue.
“It is not true. There is no such application (to join Bersatu). This (making wild accusations) is normal in politics.
“As long as we know what we are… it doesn’t bother me.
“This is a silly issue. I want to focus on doing my job,” said the housing and local government minister after officiating at the ministry’s monthly assembly in Putrajaya.
Her political secretary, Nor Hizwan Ahmad, yesterday said Bersatu membership application forms purportedly submitted by Zuraida and a letter to Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad stating her intention to join his party are fake.
In the letter allegedly written by Zuraida, she cited problems with PKR president Anwar Ibrahim as the reason for her wanting to join Bersatu.
PKR has issued her a show-cause letter for criticising Anwar and other party leaders.
Asked if she will join any other party given the current turmoil in her own, Zuraida said the thought has never crossed her mind.
“If we are on the right track, it is not a problem where we are (which party we belong to).
“I won’t spend my time on all these silly things.” – January 21, 2020.
