PKR vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin has not applied to join Bersatu, said her aide today.

The housing and local government minister’s political secretary Nor Hizwan Ahmad said in a statement her supposed application forms as well as a letter to Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad on her intention to join his party are fake.

Hizwan also slammed the use of the ministry’s letter head, calling its use to serve underhanded political purposes an abuse.

“This is fake news and the sinister work of amateurs who are out to cause trouble within PKR,” he said.

He added that Zuraida, as the party vice-president, was focused on carrying out her responsibilities for the party.

Earlier today, copies of Zuraida’s supposed application forms to join Bersatu went viral on social media.

Also attached was a letter allegedly written by her to Dr Mahathir, in which she blames problems with PKR president Anwar Ibrahim’s leadership as her reason for wanting to join Bersatu.
