THE rule of law should apply to all, including those arrested at a drug-fuelled private party in Puchong yesterday, said Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Police have rounded up 17 suspects, including a state assemblyman from Bersatu, a staffer for the party, and an aide to a minister.

The prime minister said although he is unsure of the names of those detained, the rule of law should apply to all.

“I heard about it (arrests) but don’t know the names.

“Of course we believe in the rule of law, anybody that breaks the law, doesn’t matter who, even if I break the law, I go to jail,” he told reporters after visiting the Dhaya Maju Infrastructure (Asia) Sdn Bhd’s rail depot in Serendah, Selangor this afternoon.

He also said Bersatu will decide on the appropriate action against its members only after obtaining the full information on the incident.

Only one out of the 17 arrested tested negative for drug abuse. The raiding party also found a small amount of Ketamine in the condominium unit. – January 13, 2020.
