AMPANG PKR Youth chief Adam Rosly should go on “leave” from his party duties or face a disciplinary board, said PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli.
Rafizi said that Adam’s case is being used to tarnish PKR’s image and the party should move to distance themselves from him.
Adam was charged at the KL Sessions Court with giving false statements and forging documents given to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers during the course of their investigations into his personal wealth last week.
Adam is currently out on bail of RM300,000.
“Me, and the other party leaders, will propose that an action be taken so that we can stop his personal issues from dragging PKR and Pakatan Harapan down. The party leadership can allow him to go on ‘vacation’ from his duties till the case resolves or through the disciplinary board as mentioned by deputy president Azmin Ali,” he said in a statement today.
He said the Ampang PKR Youth chief can still turn the situation around and urged him to publicly declare his assets as soon as possible.
“I still think that Adam Rosly can clarify the situation and not drag PKR down with his personal agendas by declaring his assets as soon as possible.
“The situation now is different, because of his unwillingness to declare his assets it has tarnished the good image of Keadilan to a point that we are attacked by all political enemies,” Rafizi said.
Adam’s wealth came into the limelight after Red Shirts leader Jamal Yunos questioned how he was able to own a castle-style bungalow in Ampang at such a young age.
Adam claimed that he had amassed his wealth through business ventures and inheritance from his family.
He is to be charged under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act. – April 24, 2017.
