QUESTIONS about the alleged suspension of the Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Ministry secretary-general must be directed to the chief secretary to the government, said minister Salahuddin Ayub.

“You will have to ask the KSN (chief secretary to the government), I don’t have any information on that,” he said after officiating the Kongres Benih Asia 2019 today.

Previously an Amanah leader had disclosed on social media that the secretary-general had sabotaged the minister by carrying out an RM1.4 billion padi tender without the minister’s knowledge.

Salahuddin has come under fire after he admitted writing to Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad that the tender be given to the National Farmers’ Organisation (Nafas).

He has maintained that there was nothing wrong in writing the recommendation letter because the tender had not been finalised and it would benefit the thousands of Nafas members, and not to enrich himself. – November 25, 2019.

  • Don't exercise insider tender system. Nafas after decades remain dependent on MOA tender in order to survive. Nafas is commercially given advantage but yet found with corrupt practices in management and the entity is not commercially viable without govt support. Another useless GLC with wrong direction and corrupted management.
