ANYONE can suggest changes to the cabinet, but the final decision is down to the prime minister and the Pakatan Harapan pact members, said Dr Mahathir Mohamad today after PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man called for Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng to be removed from office.

“Anyone can make suggestions, but I will make changes only with the consensus of PH pact members,” the prime minister and Bersatu chairman told reporters in Putrajaya today.

Earlier today, Tuan Ibrahim suggested Lim be replaced in a cabinet reshuffle for favouring Penang over the halal hub in Budget 2020.

“Penang is given RM10 billion for development and the halal hub only received RM10 million,” the Kubang Kerian MP said.

“The halal market is worth billions and should have received more funding,” Tuan Ibrahim told reporters today, adding Lim should also be penalised for PH’s disastrous performance in the Tanjung Piai by-election.

However, he did not state what Lim, who is DAP secretary-general, or the party did that contributed to the loss.

Yesterday, Dr Mahathir had said he was considering a cabinet reshuffle in light of PH’s disastrous showing in the Tanjung Piai by-election. – November 21, 2019.

  • If PAS were to rule Putrajaya, the Malaysia economy will be like Trengganu or Kelantan. Many of us will have to migrate to overseas for greener pastures. Its like a crab asking others to walk straight, we will only laugh.
