A HEATED argument erupted in the Dewan Rakyat today when Barisan Nasional MPs ridiculed Entrepreneur Development Minister Mohd Redzuan Yusof over the “flying car” project.

Redzuan was answering a question posed by Sibu MP Oscar Ling when he was heckled by the opposition bloc.

Redzuan will test drive the vehicle tomorrow and he has invited opposition MPs to join him in checking out the vehicle, also known as the air mobility platform.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke, however, called the vehicle a drone instead.

“The government has started training the youth in a programme using drones. An unmanned flying vehicle. Call it whatever you like. Drone or super drone. In the west they call it a drone,” said Redzuan.

Pasir Salak MP Tajudin Abdul Rahman stood up and accused Redzuan of talking nonsense.

“Last time you called it a flying car but today you are calling it a drone. What nonsense,” the MP said.

Redzuan replied: “This is the approach of a leader with no knowledge.”

Paya Besar MP Mohd Shahar Abdullah then told Redzuan that it was the transport minister who had called the car a drone.

“I support your initiative Tok Wan (Redzuan) but it was the minister who called it a drone. It was DAP,” said Shahar.

Lenggong MP Shamsul Anuar Nasarah joined in the fray and told Redzuan to sit down and stop making a laughingstock of himself.

Speaker Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof advised the MPs to take up Redzuan’s invitation to view the flying car for themselves. – November 20, 2019.
