PAKATAN Harapan is hopeful that voter turnout will reach 70% in the Tg Piai by-election when polling ends at 5.30pm, said Muhyiddin Yassin.

“As of now, turnout is already 51%.

“It’s possible that the turnout will hit 70% after people are done with their noon prayers,” the home minister told reporters at IPD Pontian today.

The Election Commission reported that the turnout at noon was around 43%.

Muhyiddin said that polling was proceeding smoothly with no untoward incidents.

“There have been some name calling and slogan shouting but that’s normal in elections.

“So long as there is no extreme provocation, it should be ok.” – November 16, 2019.
