Maszlee in Paris for Unesco meet

EDUCATION Minister Dr Maszlee Malik is in Paris to represent Malaysia at the 40th Unesco General Conference.

The meet, which started yesterday, runs till November 27.

Maszlee was met on arrival at Charles de Gaulle International Airport last night by Malaysian Ambassador to France Azfar Mohamad Mustafar and embassy staff.

On the minister’s itinerary today is the Education Ministers’ Forum on “Inclusion and Mobility in Higher Education”.

Maszlee, who is also Malaysian National Commission for Unesco president, is scheduled to deliver the country’s statement at the general conference at the Unesco headquarters tomorrow.

On Friday, he is due to attend a round table of the Malaysia-Unesco Cooperation Programme and Malaysia-Unesco Funds-in-Trust.

He is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts and representatives from other Unesco member states, as well as attend a gathering with Malaysians.

Malaysia has been a Unesco member since 1958. – Bernama, November 13, 2019.
