Ban DAP for being national threat, demands PAS

DAP should be banned for being a threat to national security, said PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, citing its Christian agenda, links to terror group Tamil Tigers and promotion of communism though a comic book.

The Kubang Kerian MP said in a statement today he had earlier presented evidence of DAP’s Bukit Mertajam MP Steven Sim’s comments made at the Mega Chinese Methodist Church in Selangor on September 14.

Tuan Ibrahim said he urged police to investigate Sim’s statement that “The kingdom of God is an unstoppable mission, and the reason is simply this, God himself will act on it, and that is our unshakeable confidence”.

Sim responded to Tuan Ibrahim by saying he was speaking in a church and called on Malaysian Christians to be good citizens with good values.

Tuan Ibrahim then highlighted the arrest and detention of two DAP lawmakers – Malacca exco member G. Saminathan and Seremban Jaya assemblyman P. Gunasekaran – over their alleged links with defunct terror group Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam.

The two DAP leaders are among 12 men arrested under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 over their LTTE links.

“The inspector-general of police admitted that the detention is based on strong evidence.

“This shows the arrest of DAP leaders over their links with LTTE is not a political agenda but for the sake of national security,” he said.

Tuan Ibrahim then zoomed in on former DAP member Hew Kuan Yau’s comic book titled Belt and Road Initiative for Win-Winism, which also contains a foreword by DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.

The PAS man said the Home Ministry had banned the comic for trying to promote “communism and socialism ideologies, disseminate erroneous and confusing facts about communism and contains elements that promote support and sympathy for the communist struggle”.

“These three incidents prove that the DAP agenda is increasingly detrimental to national politics. In fact, these actions contradict the constitution of the state and the federal constitution.

“It is, therefore, appropriate for DAP to be banned.”

Yesterday, opposition leader in Parliament Ismail Sabri Yaakob also made a similar call for DAP to be banned if found guilty of spreading ideologies which go against the national interests. – October 25, 2019.
