UMNO’S Federal Territory division wants to purge members who have left for Pakatan Harapan (PH) parties but insisting otherwise, said Johari Abdul Ghani.

Johari, who is the division’s liaison chief, said these individuals have been repeatedly told to exit the party although they insisted they are loyal.

“We know who they are and we have asked them to leave.

“But I am shocked that they have the guts to tell us to provide proof (they have joined other parties) when many of us in Umno know where they stand politically.

“It is time to clean up our division. I am aware that there are former division chiefs who are senators and lawmakers but have joined our enemies. We have their names in Umno.

“When we tell them the truth, they ask for evidence. Are we supposed to meet with the parties in PH and asked for their registration forms,” he said during the division’s convention in Kuala Lumpur today.

The convention was officiated by party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Johari said many Umno members are aware and have seen proof of individuals joining PH soon after the party lost in the general election in May last year.

“However, after we inked cooperation with PAS, they are now afraid because at first they thought Umno will be dead (after GE14).

“We cannot afford to shelter traitors in the party when we are trying to rebuild the party.

“If we keep them, our efforts are gone. We can never allow traitors to have a place in Umno, not even an inch,” he said. – October 20, 2019.
