THE ban has been lifted on former law minister Zaid Ibrahim’s book, Assalamualaikum (May Peace Be Upon You): Observations On The Islamisation Of Malaysia.

He tweeted his happiness today, saying: “What a difference a good Home Affairs Minister can do!”

Malaysiakini reported that the ban was lifted through in a gazette dated September 18.

It was banned in December 2017 by the Home Ministry under the Barisan Nasional administration for being prejudicial to public order.

It was launched by Dr Mahathir Mohamad when it was published in 2015.

Zaid’s book is about how Islamisation is used as a public policy, and not about Islam, as alleged by the ministry. – September 19, 2019.

  • Zaid, we need you to counter the growing Talibanism. Please come back to the political arena and make your sound judgement and courageous voice heard.
