Dr Mahathir rewarded DAP with top jobs for helping form Bersatu, says Najib

DAP leaders were rewarded with top jobs, including that of the finance minister, in the new Pakatan Harapan administration for the party’s role in helping to set up Bersatu, said Najib Razak.

And this has resulted in the Malays being overlooked for these positions, resulting in the Malay community to suffer under the PH rule, he added.

“This is why we (the Malays) are in this state today. The prime minister (Dr Mahathir Mohamad) had to give away the finance minister’s post to Lim Guan Eng.

“It was the same with the position of the attorney-general and many other top positions, which were given to DAP. This has given pressure to all of us today,” he said in his speech to officiate Pekan Umno meeting.

Najib is the Pekan Umno division leader and the MP for Pekan.

This is not the first time Najib has mocked Dr Mahathir’s Bersatu as a party formed with the help of DAP.

Previously he had said that he was informed by someone from PH that it was DAP which had mooted the idea of Dr Mahathir forming his own party to take on Umno. – August 18, 2019.
