AN aircraft equipped with a thermal sensor imaging system is the latest tool police will be using in their search for British teenager Nora Quoirin who has been missing for five days.

Negri Sembilan police chief Mohamad Mat Yusof said the police air wing will deploy the plane with a Wescam air surveillance system that is able to sense body temperature from 1,500ft above ground.

“We are going to use the plane AS355N this evening in the search and rescue mission. The plane has a thermal sensor system that can sense body temperature, day and night.

“There will be four officers from the police air wing that will join this mission. We hope that with the thermal sensor system, we will get a positive feedback,” Mohamad told reporters.

Police also revealed to the press a voice recording of Nora’s mother to be used to draw out the teenager.

The mother is recorded as saying: “Nora darling, I love you. Mum is here.”

Each rescue team will use a loud hailer and will play the recording  as they coomb the search area.

This morning, police said they will employ the tactic use after searching the jungle for the 15-year-old to no avail.

Nilai district police chief Mohd Nor Marzukee Besar told the media it was the Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIGP) Mazlan Mansor’s idea.

“We are going to record the mother’s voice calling out to Nora using words and names that the teenager recognises.”

“We believe when she hears her mother’s voice she will be drawn to it,” said Nor.

On Sunday, Quoirin disappeared from The Dusun, a tropical rainforest resort in Seremban, 63km south of Kuala Lumpur. She had arrived in Malaysia the day before with her family for a two-week holiday.

She was sleeping with her 12-year-old sister and 8-year-old brother the night she went missing.

Her family said the case should be treated as an abduction, but police said there was no evidence to support that.

Local folk who spoke to The Malaysian Insight also said it was unlikely that the girl was abducted.

Police has repeatedly said that Nora Anne is still in the area rubbishing reports that said the girl might have been kidnapped. – August 8, 2019.
