Span to propose Air Selangor management change if supply restored late

THE National Water Services Commission (Span) will propose a change of management at Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd if supply is not restored in a timely fashion after the scheduled disruption next week.

Span chairman Charles Anthony Santiago said the commission takes the matter seriously, and hopes supply will be restored by 9pm on July 26 as promised.

“We (Span) are also quite troubled by the water disruption. We have held meetings on the matter.

“If supply is not restored by 9pm on July 26, Span will submit a request to Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari to make management changes at Air Selangor,” he told a press conference at the Parliament lobby today.

Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd, in a statement yesterday, said 758 areas in Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Hulu Selangor, Kuala Selangor and Kuala Langat will experience a supply disruption lasting between 36 and 84 hours, beginning 9am on July 23, to allow for upgrading works to be carried out at the Sg Selangor Phase 1 Water Treatment Plant.

It said the cut will affect some 758,570 account holders. – Bernama, July 17, 2019.

  • Time to get rid of the riff raff in Air Selangor who seem to behave as though they are a government department riddled with inefficiency and a lack if accountability. The water consumers in Klang Valley deserve better treatment than this so called service interruption for maintenance reasons.
