A TOTAL of 758 areas in Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Hulu Selangor, Kuala Selangor and Kuala Langat will experience a scheduled water supply disruption lasting between 36 and 84 hours on July 23.

Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) said the cut, to affect some 758,570 account holders, is to allow for upgrading works to be carried out at the Sg Selangor Phase 1 Water Treatment Plant.

The works are expected to begin on 9am on July 23, said customer relations and communications head Abdul Raof Ahmad in a statement today.

“Water tankers will be mobilised… in addition, one-stop service centres will be activated beginning 8am on July 25, while static tanks will be placed at strategic locations and on critical premises.”

For the latest information on the supply disruption, consumers can refer to the Syabas mobile app or its website. Updates will also be provided via the company’s Facebook and Twitter accounts. – Bernama, July 16, 2019.
