PERAK Public Facilities, Infrastructure, Agriculture and Plantations Committee chairman Abdul Yunus Jamhari has been accused of soliciting commissions from two firms seeking 93 acres of state land, Malaysiakini reports.
Yunus, who is Kuala Kurau assemblyman, allegedly leaked executive council meeting minutes to his former aide, Beh Yong Kean, so that negotiations with the two firms for a “commission” in exchange for the PKR man’s support could begin.
Beh said in a police report sighted by the news portal that Yunus had revealed the minutes to him on October 4, 2018, and ordered the aide to ask for a commission from the two firms.
The aide said the firms wanted 63 acres of state land in Bagan Tiang and 30 acres in Kuala Kurau.
Beh said another aide witnessed this exchange.
He said later in a statement that leaking the minutes of a state government meeting is an offence under the Official Secrets Act 1972 and urged police to investigate his former boss. – July 13, 2019.
