It was Kit Siang’s idea to form Bersatu, says Najib

THE proposal to form Bersatu as a Malay-based party to rival Umno had come from DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang, said BN advisory board chairman Najib Razak.

Najib said he was informed about this by an individual who was present at the meeting when Lim proposed to Dr Mahathir Mohamad to create the party.

“Whose idea was it to form Bersatu? I have met this person who was at the very first meeting and today he is with us.

“He said the idea had come from none other than Lim Kit Siang,” he said last night in Pendang.

According to Najib, Lim made the suggestion to Dr Mahathir with the objective to pull 10% of the Malay support to vote for Pakatan Harapan in the last general election.

“In Kit Siang’s head, he only wanted to break Umno and BN and to divide the Malays.

“I can assure you that this is not a made-up story. This has happened and when we are down with 10% of the votes, it is enough for us to lose,” he said.

Najib made the comment following Dr Mahathir’s call for the Malays to join Bersatu.

“Who is dividing the Malays? Who has fallen to DAP’s trap? That is why today we are not joining Bersatu but we want to make Umno stronger because this is the only party for our future. Now we are with our friend PAS.

“The dominant party in PH today is DAP,” said the former prime minister. – July 13, 2019.

  • Actually it was DAP and Kit Siangs plot to bank in rm2.6 billion into Najibs Ambank personal account.So Najib was Kit Siangs victim.It was DAP and Kit Siang who were the mastermind behind the formation of Amanah,to split the malays and take over the country and install Kit Siang as PM and LGE as DPM.The UMNO Baru Malays thieves steal and plunder the country and when caught they blame Kit Siang and Cina DAP.It was DAP which stole billions from Tabung Haji and KWAP and Felda.BOSSKU better learn how to lie.

  • This is our Ex PM, luckily Exed. Making things from nothing, just to fish votes by inducing hatred among Malays towards DAP. Malays must insaf by now who is a thief and who is a gentleman. LKS can easily be a minister if he choose to but decided to stay out. Can u imagine any politician fighting for decades and choose to stay out of position, money and power?
