LET Dr Mahathir Mohamad explain his remarks to Pakatan Harapan later today on his invitation to Malay parties to join Bersatu, said Anwar Ibrahim.

“We haven’t even heard from him. So, I think we should give him that opportunity, the meeting is today,” the PKR president told reporters at Parliament lobby today.

The Port Dickson MP was responding to queries on Dr Mahathir’s invitation to other Malay parties to join Bersatu last Friday.

When asked if PKR would object to Bersatu’s invitation, Anwar replied: “I think I have said we should give him the opportunity to explain to the Pakatan leadership council. Thank you.”

Anwar also declined to give his opinion on the matter.

PH is scheduled to hold its monthly presidential council meeting at the Yayasan Leadership Foundation in Putrajaya later today.

On another matter, Anwar said sacked Santubong PKR youth chief Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz will have the same rights as other members.

“There is a process, so, let him appeal.

“Whoever that has been sacked can appeal to the disciplinary committee. Not me,” said Anwar.

The PKR disciplinary committee sacked Haziq last Wednesday after the former aide to Deputy Primary Industries Minister Shamsul Iskandar alleged that he had sexual affair with PKR deputy president Azmin Ali.  – July 8, 2019.

  • Tun is playing up the same game he played 30-40 years ago. He will cause another catastrophic situation like pre-GE14.

  • PR or PH will be our choice for next GE, definitely not one that promotes communal politics
