NAJIB Razak is a “pathological liar”, said Lim Kit Siang, following the former prime minister’s debate invitation to the DAP veteran.
Lim said he is open to debating Najib on the 1Malaysia Development Bhd scandal, which the latter is implicated in.
“Should one debate with a kleptocrat, a pathological or habitual liar?” said the Iskandar Puteri MP in a statement today.
He questioned if Najib is prepared to debate on the subject of “how Malaysia became a global kleptocracy, and how we can become a leading nation of integrity”.
“The ball is in Najib’s court.”
The statement comes after Najib, in an interview with Free Malaysia Today, invited Lim to debate him on any subject.
Lim said he has issued many statements against Najib, seeking answers or explanations to allegations against the former Barisan Nasional chairman, and many have gone unanswered.
“Even his Free Malaysia Today interview today was not spared of lies. He said he answered me every time I made a statement, which is a downright lie.”
Najib has not responded to questions on why he continues to deny the existence of the 1MDB scandal, and calls to clarify matters regarding other corruption cases that took place when he was in office, said Lim.
He cited the sacking of Abdul Gani Patail as attorney-general amid preparations to bring charges against Najib over 1MDB-related funds, and the claim by businessman Deepak Jaikishan that Najib’s wife, Rosmah Mansor, was the “de facto prime minister” when BN was in power. – May 21, 2019.

Media is either ill-equipped to serve the interests of Malaysia Baharu or it is out to make mischief.
Media has a perverse view of "equal time" and the presumption of innocence of an accused facing charges of grand larceny against King, country and the people.
Give the accused his time in court.
