POLICE will leave no stone unturned in the investigation into the fire that broke out yesterday in Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah in Kuala Lumpur.

Inspector-General of Police Mohd Fuzi Harun said all parties directly or indirectly connected to the fire would be interviewed.

“Not only the owner, but the teachers, students who escaped the fire, including the 38 people in the hospital, we will investigate them all,” he said at a press conference in Bukit Aman today.

On whether the blaze was due to mischief, as suggested by Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department director Khirudin Drahman has said, Fuzi said police would base their conclusions on  evidence.

“This is what he said, we don’t just listen to verbal speeches, we need the black and white report.

“We will look into all angles. At the moment, it is too early to classify as to what type of arson, and what are the issues to address,” he said.

For the time being, he said the case was classified as sudden death.

“For the time being our focus is on the sudden death report and fire report only, unless there are new leads following the postmortem and bomba reports.
