THE bodies of the 23 victims of yesterday’s fire at the Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah tahfiz school have been identified via DNA testing, said Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

“We will meet and inform the parents for further undertakings and closure,” he said in a Facebook post today.

Hundreds of people have gathered at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital mortuary since this morning.

Funeral prayers for the victims will be performed at the hospital’s mosque.

Several hearses are seen lined up outside the mortuary to transport the remains to the cemetery.

Eleven of the victims are expected to be buried at the Raudhatul Salimah cemetery in Gombak later today. – September 15, 2017.
