FIVE PKR members have been arrested for allegedly stopping and inspecting a police patrol vehicle during the Rantau by-election on Saturday.

Negri Sembilan acting police chief Mohamad Mat Yusop told The Malaysian Insight today that the five were picked up in several operations over the past two days.

“Two were detained yesterday at noon, another was arrested later the same day and today, we nabbed two more,” Mohamad said.

After the Rantau by-election, five men wearing PKR vests allegedly demanded to inspect a police vehicle, claiming it contained excess ballot papers.

The vehicle was escorting another car carrying ballot papers to a vote tallying centre at SJKC Chung Hua at 6pm.

Recordings of the incident, by unknown individuals present at the scene, had gone viral after the polls. – April 15, 2019.
