ROSMAH Mansor wants the Pakatan Harapan government to apologise to the people for lying about her link to a multi-million ringgit pink diamond.
The wife of former prime minister Najib Razak said the lies were spread in the run-up to the last general election and people had believed them.
“It’s sad that the people chose to believe lies.
“Some had come and apologised (to me) and I forgave them.
“But what’s more important is to (Putrajaya) apologise to the people,” she said after claiming trial to a new corruption charge at the Kuala Lumpur High Court today.
Yesterday, Deputy Finance Minister Amiruddin Hamzah told Dewan Rakyat that the wife of a VVIP did not purchase a pink diamond.
Amiruddin told the house that the pink diamond linked to a high-profile case was not purchased by the wife of a VVIP and that it was a sales agent who had brought the piece along with other jewellery into the country for the woman’s viewing.
Amiruddin also said that the sales agent had declared the jewellery to Malaysian Customs.
Rosmah said the slander about the pink diamond was one of many lies that were spread about her because her husband was the prime minister then.
“Whatever he had faced, I had to go through the same thing because I’m his wife.
“The people chose to listen to all the lies, to all the untrue stories that have been told that was smeared against me and my husband.
“So, we just have to go through it and unfortunately the people suffered.”
She said the people chose to believe lies because they are more interesting.
“But, thank God everything is now settled.” – April 10, 2019.

Jewellery is one of the favoured methods of transmission of money launderers. It's easy to carry and to dispose of through 'friendly' jewellers.
The question is in which safe deposit box in Europe has she hidden it?
