POLICE have been urged to take swift action in the cases of statues of Hindu idols being placed at a surau.
Two idols were discovered on the wall of the Sabilul Huda surau in Klang just a few days after a similar incident occurred in the same place.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Mujahid Yusof Rawa said if the matter was not solved quickly, it could lead to religious tension.
“Whoever is behind this, I hope they are arrested soon,” Mujahid said.
On Thursday, a police report was lodged after a statue of a deity was placed at the entrance of the Muslim place of worship’s prayer hall.
Surau Sabilul Huda official Mohd Yatim Omar, 64, said he found the statue when he went to open the surau at 4.15pm for the Asar prayers.
Yatim lodged a police report at the South Klang Pandararan station and handed them the idol.
Yesterday, another two Hindu idols were placed on the wall of the surau. Police have yet to make any arrests. – February 24, 2019.
