PAKATAN Harapan should be concentrating on addressing people’s woes instead of attacking him in Semenyih, said former prime minister Najib Razak.

He also refused to entertain the attacks against him in the ongoing campaign for the Semenyih by-election on March 2.

“They have to talk about issues affecting the people.

“They are getting very personal attacking me in their campaign. This by-election is not about me,” he said after campaigning in Bandar Bukit Mahkota, Semenyih, today.

As in the campaign for the Cameron Highlands by-election last month, PH leaders are targeting Najib and the 1MDB scandal in Semenyih.

A senior PKR leader mocked Najib for not bringing along his wife, Rosmah Mansor, while campaigning while another leader equated the former Umno president with an antique car which attracts onlookers but not buyers.

Najib meanwhile said the signs in Semenyih are good for Barisan Nasional.

“The first night I was at Tasik Kesuma and the response was very good. As it happens, the Selangor menteri besar and Azmin Ali were at their ceramah some 100m away.

“And I saw photographs in Facebook showing many empty chairs at their ceramah. Photos don’t lie. The response to our ceramah is definitely much better,” he said.

Najib also slammed PH for making new promises while the old ones remain unfulfilled.

“After I had spoken about it repeatedly, suddenly the government decided to pay bachelors RM100 each as cost-of-living payment.

“When BN was in power, we gave RM650,” he said.

The Semenyih by-election sees a four-cornered fight involving PH’s Muhammad Aiman Zainali, Zakaria Hanafi (BN), Nik Aziz Afiq Abdul (Parti Sosialis Malaysia) and Kuan Chee Heng (independent).

  • I have to agree with Najib this time. PH should stop all these personal attacks. It is unsavory to the fence sitters when you keep hitting the guy when he is down. Stand tall and win the election by winning the hearts and minds of the people.

  • Looks like Najib only come to knows about voters plight when he is down and cornered. Everyone knows it is a charade play by him but again that sandiwara buys vote for BN. PH has gotten themelves lost in their easy gain glorious victory of GE14 and now still dwelling and living on the thoughts that their invincibilty still holds. PH needs a strong jolt back to the ground especially Bersatu who has forgotten their place in society and behaving like a prodigal son on a run away train to fame. Looks like Semenyih to fall to BN. It is a good rude awakening to PH that no one party should have all the say . People elected PH not because of Mahatir, Anwar , LKS , LGE , Mohd Sabu or anyone in PH who has the false beliefs that they are the chosen one. You guys are nothing and it so happen that you are in the forefront of the political scene and somebody has to do the job. Get it into the head we can elect you, so can we choose to kick you out.The rakyat has already tasted changes in government and it looks like a wonderful actions to be in continuious use as checkmate. UmnoBN lost is because rakyat had enough of their nonsences in racial , bigotries , economic woes and all make worse by the corruption leading to unstoppable plundering in every institutions. Nothing to loose for the rakayat when everything rots in the country and everyone goes down with it even those who have plundered hoping that it will shield them from the troubles. So PH get a grip and start administrating the country as what have been promised in the manifestos. Rakyat know that it is not a quick fix and never asked for al to be done on one go but when thousand of excuses after nine months and not even a single solutions , who can tolerate ?????????? . All the PH Politicians just think !!!!!!!!! , if in your own household there are loads of rubbish and garbage not being cleared and your family members only gives thousand of excuses and not even one solution or effort in sight to perform the task ---- how do you react??????
