KL mall restaurant damaged in afternoon blaze

THE Ship restaurant at Pertama Complex in Kuala Lumpur was damaged in a fire that started this afternoon.

The Fire and Rescue Department, in a statement, said no injuries were reported in the incident.

After receiving a distress call at 3.59pm, the department dispatched 32 personnel from the Titiwangsa, Sentul and Hang Tuah stations to the scene.

“When firefighters reached the scene, it was already filled with smoke.”

The department said the fire was caused by an exhaust fan that burst into flames.

Firefighters got the blaze under control at 4.09pm and extinguished it at 4.25pm. – February 1, 2019.
