NAJIB Razak is considering debating Lim Kit Siang over current issues in the country although the former prime minister does not see any point to it.

The Pekan MP said his priority right now is to engage the people, not an individual who seems to be obsessed with him

“Let me think about this. He is obsessed with me.

“My priority is to engage the people. This is not about any individual,” he told reporters on the Cameron Highland campaign trail today.

Najib repeated the joke that the DAP parliamentary leader should be appointed “Minister in charge of Najib’s affairs”.

The two have exchanged barbs since the start of the by-election campaign. Lim earlier today said there were some people trying to stop him from talking about  the 1Malaysia Development Bhd scandal surrounding Najib which will prevent the former prime minister from making an intended political comeback.

Lim he was “obsessed” with Najib because of the scandals dogging the former leader.

“There are people who think we should not talk about Najib now and forget about the global 1MDB kleptocracy,” Lim said.

Najib, who has not mentioned 1MDB once in the current campaign, is clearly one of those people who wish to have the scandal forgotten.

He said the time is ripe to attempt to bring Najib back to power as Islamist party PAS is cooperating with Barisan Nasional and Umno.

“There will be a union of PAS and Umno and all the secondary parties – MCA, MIC – anything to help Najib come back to power” he said.  – January 24, 2019.
