Khairy mocks Pakatan over Bersatu’s political appointees

KHAIRY Jamaluddin has ridiculed Rural Development Minister Rina Harun for appointing two members of her own party Bersatu to helm government-linked companies (GLC).

The former Umno Youth chief branded the appointments as “going against Pakatan Harapan’s promises”.

“Pakatan Harapan will put political appointees in GLCs – Malaysia Baru – breaking its promises since May 10, 2018,” Khairy tweeted today.

Rina, who is the Bersatu Wanita chief, appointed Bersatu supreme council member Sukiman Sarmani as the Universiti Teknikal Mara (Unitek-Mara) chairman and another supreme council member Akhramsyah Muammar Ubaidah Sanusi as Mara Corporation Sdn Bhd chairman.

On another related matter, senior lawyer Haniff Khatri Abdulla was also appointed as the chairman of Lembaga Kemajuan Wilayah.

The appointments were said to be recommended by Rina and was given the nod by Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad. – January 5, 2019.
